Svjc Dav Public School-Dasuya

We are Svjc Dav Public School-Dasuya, located on Balagran Road here in Dasuya, Hoshiarpur. People in this part of the 144205 area know us pretty well. The school isn't trying to be anything other than a solid place for learning. We’ve got our classrooms, the admin office where there’s always a stack of papers to sign, and a playground that sees a lot of action during the lunch hour. The staff here are your neighbors; we live in the same streets and shop at the same markets. It’s a straightforward environment. We focus on the textbooks and the exams, but we also spend a lot of time just talking to the students about their lives. Sometimes the school bell is a bit temperamental, and the whiteboards need a good scrub, but that’s the reality of a busy school. We don't use polished language to describe what we do. We just open the gates every morning and do our best to teach the kids who walk through them. Whether it’s organizing a small school event or just making sure the sports equipment isn’t left out in the rain, there’s always something to do. It’s a community school through and through. We know the parents, we know the local shops, and we’ve been part of the Dasuya landscape for a long time. It is a noisy place, but it feels like home to most of us.
