Shri Gurudev 1008 Maharaj Rice Mill

Shri Gurudev 1008 Maharaj Rice Mill is located in Village Kauri, right along the G.T. Road. Being on such a major road means there is always traffic passing by, but we stay focused on what is happening inside our walls. The name is a bit long, but everyone around here just knows us as the mill by the highway. The sun beats down on the corrugated metal roof in the summer, making it quite warm inside, but we keep the big fans going. We have been here for a long time, watching the road get busier and the village grow a little. Our work revolves around the seasons. When the harvest comes in, we are working late into the night, sometimes under heavy floodlights. The sound of the machinery is a constant backdrop to our lives. We don't bother with much decoration. The walls are plain and the floor is just swept concrete. We handle the grain, pack the bags, and load the trucks. It is a cycle that doesn't change much from year to year. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to people face to face. It is a practical business. You get the grain in, you process it, and you move it out. There is something satisfying about seeing the stacks of finished bags ready to go. We take pride in just doing the work every day.
