Hot Spicy

You can find Hot Spicy at 30 Jalandhar City. We are right by the Work Shop Chowk, which is a very busy intersection. There are always trucks and rickshaws honking outside our door. It’s a noisy place to work, but you get used to it after a week or two. I am the one who usually handles the spice mixes. My hands often smell like cumin and chili powder even after I wash them. The shop is a bit dark inside because we don't have many windows, but it keeps the heat out a little bit during the summer months. We have some metal tables and stools that are bolted to the floor so they don't move around. A lot of the people who eat here are drivers or people working in the nearby workshops. They want something spicy and they want it fast. We don't have a waiter who takes your order at the table; you usually just shout it out to me near the counter. I try to keep the place as clean as possible, but with the dust from the chowk, it’s a constant battle. We don’t have a big menu. We just do a few things and we do them the same way every day. It’s a tough way to make a living sometimes, but we’ve been here at Work Shop Chowk for a long time now. We just keep the stove going.
