Sardar Oil Industries

If you go out to Village Wariyana, right by P.O. Basti Guzan on Kapurthala Road, you’ll find Sardar Oil Industries. We are tucked away in a spot that feels a bit more rural than the city centers. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, and there are often tractors passing by. Our building is a sturdy one, built to handle the heavy work of oil production. You can usually smell the oil long before you reach the front door. It’s a thick, heavy scent that we don’t even notice anymore because we are around it all day. Inside, the floors can be a bit slick, so we have to be careful where we step. There are drums stacked up everywhere and the sound of the presses is always going. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy lobby; it’s just a place for work. Most of the people working here are from around the village or nearby areas. We know each other well and there is a lot of shouting to be heard over the machines. Kapurthala Road stays busy with transport trucks taking goods in and out. We spend our time checking the quality of the seeds and making sure the containers are sealed right. It’s messy work sometimes, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the machines running and the oil flowing out to the customers.
