R.K. Overseas Rice Mills

Our mill is out on G.T. Road in the Suranassi area. It’s a big site because we handle quite a lot of rice every day. You can’t miss the smell of toasted grain when you get close to our gates. We deal with both local stuff and things meant for overseas markets. It’s a lot of logistics, making sure the shipping containers are ready and the rice is dried just right. The machines run almost twenty-four hours a day during the peak harvest season. It’s loud, and there’s always a fine layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep the floors. We have a team that manages the sorting and the final packing. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s essential work for the area. We’ve seen the Suranassi area change a lot lately, with more buildings and shops popping up around us. We still stick to our old routine though. The trucks come in from the farms, and we process the paddy into clean rice. We have to keep a close eye on the quality because the people we sell to can be quite picky about the grains. It’s a lot of pressure sometimes, especially when deadlines are tight, but we’ve got a good rhythm down. We aren't looking to be the biggest mill in the state, just to do the work properly and keep our workers busy. It's a steady life on G.T. Road, even with all the noise from the traffic outside.
