Mittal Steel Works

Our shop, Mittal Steel Works, is tucked into the Mittal Udyog Building on Ladowali Road. It’s an older building, but it holds up well against all the noise we make. If you’ve ever walked down this road, you’ve probably heard the sound of metal hitting metal coming from our floor. We spend most of our time cutting and shaping different pieces for local projects. It isn't the cleanest job, my hands are usually stained with grease or metal filings by noon, but it’s what pays the bills. My brother and a couple of cousins help out mostly. We don’t have a big corporate setup or a receptionist sitting at a desk. Usually, if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and answers it. The space is filled with machines that have been around for a long time. They’re loud and take some effort to keep running, but they get the job done right. Ladowali Road is always crowded, so getting stuff delivered can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We just deal with it as it comes. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go in this building over the years, but we’ve managed to stick around. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. Most folks just know where to find us when they need something made out of steel. It’s a simple operation, really. We just show up and do the work every morning.
