B. D. Steels

We are located at Chowk Sudan, sharing space with B.R. Chopra & Co. It’s a busy intersection and there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and the local market. Dealing in steel means we are always surrounded by heavy metal beams and pipes. The yard is usually full of inventory, and it can get pretty dirty with all the iron dust and grease. We have been operating from this spot for quite a long time. It is not the kind of place where you wear a suit to work; we are usually in old clothes that can handle some grime. The office is just a small room where we keep the ledgers and handle the billing. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three trucks show up at once to load or unload, but we managed to find a rhythm over the years. We know the regulars who come in looking for specific steel grades, and we try to keep what they need in stock. The weather plays a big part in our day, especially when it rains and we have to cover everything up quickly. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything fancy like that. We just focus on getting the steel out to the people who need it for their construction or workshops. It’s hard, physical work, but it’s what we know best. Most days are long, but we just get through the list and start again tomorrow.
