Essar Steel (Oxygen Plant)

We've been here at 15 Vasant Vihar for a while now. Dealing with oxygen isn't exactly a fancy job, but it’s what we do every day. Jalandhar is a busy place and being tucked away here in Punjab means we see a lot of local folks coming in and out. The plant keeps us on our toes. Most days it’s just about making sure the gauges are right and the tanks are ready to go. It’s loud sometimes, and the smells aren't always great, but that’s just how it is with industrial work. We have a small crew and most of us have lived in the area for years. There’s always someone dropping by to check on an order or just to see how things are moving. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. Just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes the heat in the summer gets a bit much, especially with the machinery running, but we manage. If you’re looking for us, we’re right there in the Vasant Vihar neighborhood. It’s a straightforward setup. We focus on getting the gas out and keeping the equipment from breaking down. It’s not a glamorous life, but it pays the bills and keeps the local shops supplied with what they need. We try to keep things simple and just get the work finished before the sun goes down and we can all head home.
