Miki Rubber Industries

Our place is located on Kapurthala Road, right in the Basti Bawa Khel area. If you know the neighborhood, you know it’s mostly industrial and always busy with big lorries and delivery vans. We’ve been running Miki Rubber Industries from here for many years. The air always has that distinct smell of raw rubber and heat, which is something you just get used to after working here for a week. Our workshop is a bit old, and the walls have seen better days, but the equipment inside does the job well enough. We spend a lot of time on the floor, checking the molds and making sure the rubber is setting right. It’s loud, so we usually have to shout to be heard over the presses during the day. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you come by to see us, you’ll probably find us in our work clothes, covered in a bit of soot or grime from the machines. The tea stall down the road is where we usually get our breaks and catch up on news. We deal with a lot of local suppliers and drivers who bring in materials from across the state. It’s hard work, and the days are long, especially when we have a big batch of orders to finish before the weekend starts. We don’t do much advertising; we just stay here and keep the production going. It’s a simple setup for honest labor.
