Kuldip Rice Mills

Kuldip Rice Mills is located right on Pandori Road. We are in the Gurmukh Singh Nagar area, near the Ghot Poker post office. It’s a quiet enough spot until the harvest kicks in. Then, the whole place wakes up. We’ve got the machines running and people moving bags back and forth. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and stacking. We don't have any fancy signs or a big marketing team. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. The building is older, but it does the job just fine. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait, sitting outside on some old stools. We talk about the weather or how the crops are looking this year. It's a very local feel here. Most people who come by are from the nearby villages. We know most of them by name. The smell of the rice being processed is something you never quite get out of your nose. It’s a dry, earthy smell. We keep the floors as clean as we can, but with so much grain moving, there's always a bit of a mess. That's just the reality of a mill. We take it one day at a time. If you’re passing through Ghot Poker, you’ll probably see the trucks turning into our yard. It’s a steady life and we’re content with how things are going here on Pandori Road.
