Guru Ram Dass Rice & General Mills

We spend most of our days here on Pandori Road in Bhattian. The mill has been part of Gurmukh Singh Nagar for quite a while now. If you walk by, you’ll hear the machines hum and see the dust from the rice processing. It’s not a fancy place, just a lot of hard work happening inside these walls. We start early in the morning when the sun is barely up and stay until the last truck is loaded. Usually, there’s a lot of noise, but we’re used to it. The area around here is busy with people coming and going. We handle the rice bags and make sure the mill keeps running smoothly. Sometimes things break down and we have to fix them ourselves right there on the floor. It gets hot in the summer, really hot, but the work doesn't stop. People from around the neighborhood know us as the place with the big gates. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk where we keep the records. It's a simple life really. We focus on getting the job done. The trucks line up outside on the road and wait their turn. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days it can get a bit chaotic. That’s just how it is at Guru Ram Dass Rice & General Mills. We’ve seen the seasons change many times from this spot.
