Guru Nanak Mission Public Senior Secondary School

Our school is located right near the Guru Nanak Mission Hospital in Nawanshahr. Being so close to the hospital and the road to Banga means there is always some activity around the gate. It’s a senior secondary school, so we have a lot of older students who are busy preparing for their futures. The atmosphere is generally quite serious during class hours, but you still hear plenty of laughing during the lunch breaks. The building is large enough to hold all our classes, though we always seem to be running out of storage space for old files and sports equipment. We’ve got some trees around the perimeter that provide a bit of relief when the sun is out in full force. The local people know us well because we’ve been here for years, right by the hospital landmark. We don’t bother with fancy brochures or anything polished. Usually, it’s just us talking to parents at the gate or fixing up a classroom that needs a new coat of lime wash. Running a school like this takes a lot of patience, especially when the fans stop working or the water cooler needs a new filter. It’s a very hands-on job for all of us. We just focus on making sure the kids show up, learn something, and get home safely to their families in Nawanshahr or Banga. There isn't much more to it than that daily routine.
