Gnd Public School

Gnd Public School is found in Vpo Kharkuwal, near Julah Majra in the Nawanshahr area. It's a quiet location, away from the big city noise. Most of the children who study here come from the nearby farms and houses. The school building is simple and fits right into the village setting. We have a few trees planted around the courtyard which provide a bit of shade during the hotter months. The morning routine starts with the sound of kids walking down the dirt paths towards the main entrance. We don't have fancy laboratories or big sports fields, but we have enough space for the kids to learn and play. The teachers are mostly people from this region who understand the local way of life. They spend their days going from one classroom to another with their chalk and registers. It’s a very direct way of teaching. We try to keep the place clean, though the kids always manage to bring in a bit of mud from the fields. During the lunch break, you can hear the clinking of steel tiffins and lots of laughter. It’s a very human place. We deal with the usual problems like leaky taps or a broken window every now and then. We just fix things and carry on. It’s a school that belongs to the village, and we take that responsibility seriously without making a big deal out of it.
