G.N. General Mill

G.N. General Mill is located right on Garhshanker Road. It’s a place where we do a lot of heavy lifting every single day. The mill isn’t anything fancy to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done for the people around here. We usually start our mornings quite early before the sun gets too high. There is always a layer of dust on the windows and the floor, but that is just part of working with grain and machinery. We have a couple of old machines that make a lot of noise, and sometimes they act up, but we know how to fix them by now. People from the nearby areas drive their tractors and trucks up to our gates on Garhshanker Road to drop off their loads. We spend most of our time weighing things and making sure the milling is going right. It can be exhausting work, especially when it’s hot, but we’ve been doing this for a long time. There isn't a big team here, just a few of us who know the routine. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We mostly just stay out in the shed or near the entrance. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just work the mill and try to keep things moving so the next person in line doesn't have to wait all day.
