Dubai Unisex Saloon & Hair Academy

Our shop is located at Shop No 3 on Kaputhalaroad, right in that big Improvement Trust Building in Jalandhar. It’s a sturdy old building, and being there means we get a lot of people passing through for all sorts of reasons. Dubai Unisex Saloon & Hair Academy is a bit of a double act. Half the time we are just cutting hair and doing the usual salon work for anyone who walks in off the street. The other half, we have students hanging around trying to learn the trade. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There’s always someone practicing with a mannequin head or watching over a shoulder to see how a certain cut is done. We started the academy part because so many young people in Jalandhar wanted to learn a skill that could actually earn them a living. It’s a bit messy sometimes with hair on the floor and mirrors that need constant cleaning, but that’s just how a working shop looks. We don’t put on airs or try to act like we’re some high-end boutique from a movie. We just teach what we know and work on the customers who trust us with their look. The traffic on Kaputhalaroad is usually a mess, especially during the rush hours, but once people get inside, they can just relax for a bit while we do our thing. It’s a practical place for practical people who just want a good cut.
