Dhaliwal Rice & General Mill

If you head out to Village Nodhrani and look along Sadakpur Road, you’ll find our mill sitting right there. It’s a big building that has seen a lot of seasons come and go. We handle rice and do general milling, which keeps us pretty occupied throughout the entire year. The work is physically demanding, involving lots of hauling and monitoring the machinery to make sure nothing breaks down in the middle of a run. There’s always a bit of grease on our hands and dust in the air, which is just the way it is. We don't try to make the place look like a corporate office because it isn't one. It’s a working mill. Most of our day is spent outdoors or in the large shed where the grain is kept safe from the elements. The village is a quiet place, but our mill adds a bit of noise to the neighborhood during the day. We know almost everyone who comes through our gates to do business. We don't use any complicated systems, just old-fashioned hard work and a bit of patience when the machines get stubborn. Sometimes we sit out by the road in the evening when the work is finally done, just watching the sunset over the fields while we rest our legs. It’s a decent life here on Sadakpur Road. We don’t make big promises or use fancy words to describe what we do. We just process the rice and get it ready for whoever needs it.
