Ambuja Cements Ltd

Our spot is at 71/R in Block A of Model House, Jalandhar. It’s a busy residential and commercial area, so there is always some noise from the street. The office is a simple room in a larger building. We have been working out of this space for a while now. Most of our day is spent coordinating between the suppliers and the local construction sites across Punjab. In the winters, it gets quite cold and foggy, which slows down the trucks, so those are the days we are busiest on the phones trying to track everything. We don't have any fancy posters or a big reception desk. It’s just us with our ledgers and computers, trying to keep the orders straight. People from around the neighborhood know us as the cement guys. We talk to contractors every day about their foundations and walls. The office gets a bit messy with all the paperwork, but we know where everything is. We usually have a kettle going for tea because it’s the only way to get through the afternoon slump. There’s no corporate talk here. We just tell people when the cement will arrive and what the price is for the day. It is an honest, hardworking environment where we focus on getting the job done. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this area over the years, and it’s nice to know we had a small part in that.
