Godown Ultratech Cement Limited

This place is where all the heavy lifting happens. We are located on Nakodar Road in Bhagwanpur, right in the Lambra area. Being near the State Bank makes it pretty easy for people to find us, even if they aren't looking for a cement godown. The yard stays busy with trucks coming in and out at all hours. You get used to the sound of engines idling and the constant puff of grey dust that seems to settle on everything. It’s a godown, so it’s mostly about moving bags from one spot to another. The air smells like concrete and rain sometimes. We spend a lot of time checking the stacks to make sure everything is dry and ready to go out. The floor is hard and cold, and the walls are just there to keep the weather out. We don’t have much in the way of decorations or anything nice like that. It’s just a practical space for storing supplies that people need for building their houses and shops. Most of the guys here have been working these shifts for years. We know the regular drivers and we know which days are going to be the most hectic. When the sun hits the road outside, it gets quite hot, but inside the godown stays a bit cooler because of the high ceilings. It’s a straightforward job, keeping the supply moving for the local construction projects around Bhagwanpur.
