This is the RMHS part of the Ninl site in Duburi. It’s located in Jajpur, Orissa. The pincode here is 755026. Working at a place like this means you get used to the scale of everything. The machines are huge and the piles of materials are even bigger than the buildings. It’s an industrial life through and through. We aren't here to write poetry or look good; we are here to keep the systems moving. The air feels heavy sometimes because of all the production nearby. We have our little office space where we track the movements and handle the logs. It’s a bit noisy, with the conveyor belts and the heavy loaders always in motion. You learn to speak a bit louder just to be heard over the noise. Most of the staff comes from the nearby villages or they stay in the company housing down the road. We eat together and talk about the shifts. It’s a simple existence focused on the job at hand. Orissa summers are brutal, so the fans in the office are always on full blast. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some old calendars and safety posters. It’s a practical environment for practical people. We know the machines and we know the rhythms of the day. Everything is about making sure the flow doesn't stop. It’s hard work, but we are all used to it by now.
