Jindal Stainless Ltd

We are located right in the Knic area of Jajpur, Orissa. Being here at the Jindal Stainless Ltd site means we are right where the action is. It’s an industrial zone, so there is always a bit of dust in the air and the sound of machinery in the distance. Our office is a simple building. It’s not built for looks, it’s built for work. We have a lot of people coming in with boots on, so the floors are rarely perfectly clean, no matter how much we sweep. We handle a lot of the logistical stuff for the stainless steel here. It’s a lot of checking lists and making sure the trucks are loaded correctly. We eat our lunch together most days at a big wooden table in the back. The heat in Orissa can be pretty intense, so we have a few heavy-duty fans going all the time. It gets loud, but you get used to it. We don't have any marketing people or slick presentations here. We just show people what we’re doing and tell them how it is. It’s a very direct way of working. Most of us have been here for years and we know the ins and outs of the Jajpur site pretty well. It’s a tough environment but it’s where we feel most productive. We just take each day as it comes and try to stay on top of the schedule. This is just how we do things in the plant area.
