Out here in Dasmania, things are pretty spread out. Maithan Ispat Ltd. is part of the Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, which is a massive area if you've never been. Our site is near the Jakhapura post office. It’s a long drive to get here from the main town, and the roads can be a bit bumpy depending on the season. Working in a place like this means you get used to the scale of things. Everything is big—the buildings, the machines, and the trucks. We aren't a small shop on a corner; we are a proper industrial operation. But inside the gates, we’re just a bunch of people trying to make things work. The heat can be intense near the furnaces, and the noise is something you just learn to ignore after a while. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. Most of the day is spent checking on processes or dealing with logistics. It’s a very practical environment. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We make steel, and we do it every day. The office is functional, mostly filled with safety gear and charts. We eat our lunch together and talk about things other than work sometimes. It’s a hard-working atmosphere but we try to keep it friendly. It’s not fancy, but it’s essential work that keeps this whole industrial complex moving along. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch.
