Jindal Steel Limited

Out here in District Vyaspur, the road gets quite dusty when the trucks go past. Jindal Steel Limited is located right on that main road, not far from Duburi Village. If you are driving down, you can’t really miss the big gates. It’s a large site, and there’s always something moving around inside. We have a lot of people coming in for their shifts at different times of the day. The sun beats down on the open yard where we keep the materials. It gets really hot in the middle of the day, so everyone tries to stay in the shade when they can. The village is close enough that we see the same faces every morning at the gate. Sometimes the cattle from the nearby fields wander a bit too close to the fence. Inside the office, the fans are always spinning, trying to keep the air moving. We have piles of registers and clipboards everywhere because there is a lot to keep track of with the steel coming in and going out. The tea man comes by on his cycle, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. It is loud because of the heavy machinery and the sound of metal hitting metal, but you get used to it after a week. We just do our jobs, watch the clock, and make sure everything is handled properly before the sun goes down over the fields.
