Vip Mobile

Vip Mobile is a small shop located at Jhalana Dungri, 140, not too far from the Jaipur G P O. I spend my days surrounded by mobile phones, chargers, and stacks of plastic cases. It’s a bit of a messy place because there are always boxes of accessories being opened or old phones being checked for parts. People come in when their screen breaks or when they need a new SIM card. I try to help them out as quickly as I can, but sometimes there’s a wait if I’m in the middle of a tricky repair. The shop isn't very big, so it gets crowded if more than three people are inside at once. I don't wear a uniform or anything like that; I just wear whatever is comfortable for working with small tools and electronics. The lighting could be better, but I have a desk lamp for when I need to see the tiny parts inside a phone. Jhalana Dungri is a busy area, so there is always something happening outside the door. I’ve been working with electronics for a few years now, and I’ve learned most of it just by doing it every day. It’s a practical business. You bring a broken phone, and I see if I can make it work again. There are no guarantees with some of these water-damaged ones, but I’ll give it a shot. That’s how we do things here. It's just me and the phones.
