R. K. Zari & Sarees

Our shop, R. K. Zari & Sarees, sits at No. 21 in Moti Nagar, which is right near the Swami Narayan Mandir in the Vaishali Nagar area. Being so close to the temple means there is always a lot of activity on the street outside. You can hear the bells and the people passing by all day long. Inside the shop, things are a bit more quiet, mostly filled with the sound of fabric moving and the occasional customer looking through the stacks. We have shelves lined with different types of zari work and sarees that we’ve collected over time. It’s not a huge place, just a regular storefront where we spend most of our hours. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we usually bring the fabric toward the front door to see the colors properly in the daylight. Sometimes the traffic gets blocked up near the temple, and we just sit and watch the chaos from the doorway. We’ve known the other shopkeepers around Moti Nagar for years, so it feels like a small community even when it’s busy. We don't do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from someone else. It's a simple way to run a business, and it keeps us busy enough from morning until we close up for the night.
