You can find us at Shlok B-37 in the Arya Nagar Extension, right near Dadi Ka Phatak in the Murlipura part of Jaipur. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but it suits us just fine. The building is solid and we’ve made our space on the ground floor. We spend our time checking stones and keeping the records straight. There’s a lot of paper involved in this business, more than you’d think. The neighbors are mostly families, so you hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day—scooters passing by or people calling out to each other. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just us here, making sure the work gets done and the orders go out on time. The desk in the corner is always piled high with things to do, but we get through it eventually. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh when something goes wrong with the printer again, which happens more than it should. It’s a regular job for us. We’ve lived in Jaipur for a long time, so we’re used to the heat and the way the city moves. We just keep our heads down and focus on what’s on the bench. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours. We drink a lot of chai and keep the fan running on high most of the year to stay cool.
