Amrin Gem Export is based at No. 722 near Ghat Gate. The area around Ghat Gate has a lot of history and it’s always crowded with shoppers and rickshaws. Our office is a simple place where we manage all the gem exports. It’s not very big, just a room with some sturdy tables and a lot of packaging materials. I spend most of my time weighing stones and getting them ready for shipping. The paperwork can be a bit of a headache, but it’s part of the job. You can hear the noise from the gate area all day long. It's a mix of vendors shouting and the general bustle of the city. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. People who come here usually have business to discuss, so we just sit down at the main table and talk. The walls are a bit plain, and we have a few old calendars hanging up. It’s a very functional space. When it rains, the sound on the roof is quite loud, but we just keep working through it. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now, and we know most of the other exporters nearby. It’s just a regular day-to-day operation. We don't make any big promises; we just try to get the gems out on time and keep the business running. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do.
