A. L. Gems is situated over at D-20 in Amritpuri. We are near the Ghat Gate area. It’s a bit of a quieter spot compared to the main market area, which we actually like. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. Our business is mostly about stones and gems. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the business well. The work involves a lot of patience. You have to look at a lot of stones before you find the right ones for a customer. We sit at our desks and sort through what comes in every week. The room is filled with small packets and some scales for weighing things out. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. We don't spend money on big ads or billboards. Usually, people find us because someone they know told them to come here. We think that’s a better way to do business anyway. We just talk to people like they’re our neighbors, which most of them are. If someone needs something specific, we try to find it for them in our inventory. We are open most days, though we might close a bit early on Saturdays. It’s a regular job for us, and we try to do it right. We stay focused on the gems and the people who buy them. It’s a slow and steady life here in Amritpuri.
