The Tribal Weavers

We are located at 37-38, Yarnwala Chambers in Ramganj Bazar. The Tribal Weavers has been operating out of these two rooms for a long time. The building is one of those old ones with narrow stairs and high ceilings that keep it a bit cooler in the summer. Being in Yarnwala Chambers feels right because of the history of the area. Outside, the market is always full of people haggling and rickshaws trying to squeeze through the gaps. It’s loud and colorful, and we’re right in the thick of it. Inside our space, things are a bit more organized, though we do have piles of materials sitting in the corners. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. People who need to find us usually know where we are or ask a neighbor. The light in the rooms isn't the best, so we use some extra lamps to see what we’re doing. It’s a simple way to work, without much fuss or bother. We mostly keep to ourselves and get through the tasks we have for the day. Sometimes we share tea with the folks from the office next door. It’s a very local way of doing things, and we wouldn't really know how to do it any other way. The smell of the old wood and the nearby tea stalls is something we’ve just grown to love over the many years we've spent here.
