You can find us over in the Ashok Hotel Building on Khasa Kothi Road. It’s a familiar spot for most people in this part of Jaipur. Our space is in Nirman Nagar, and it's where we handle all the property stuff that comes our way. The office is pretty simple, nothing like those big glass buildings you see in the newer parts of town. We mostly deal with "To-Let" signs and keeping track of who's moving where. The walk from the main road isn't too bad, though in the summer it feels a lot longer than it is. We spend a lot of time on our mobile phones or just scribbling notes about different houses in a notebook. Sometimes the chai wala comes by and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon for us. We don’t have any big corporate slogans or anything like that. We just know the streets around here well. When someone stops by, we look through our files to see what’s available. It’s a lot of back and forth between owners and people looking for a place. The walls have a few maps pinned up, mostly showing the blocks nearby. It gets a bit dusty with the windows open, but we prefer the breeze. We just keep things moving, making sure the keys are tagged right and the entries in our ledger are somewhat organized. It’s just us doing the daily grind in this corner of the city, year after year.
