Solanki Diamond Tools Pvt. Ltd is located right on Road No. 2 in the Bais Godam industrial estate. It's a busy part of town and we’ve been at C-20 for quite some time. We spend most of our time working with various types of diamond tools. It’s noisy work because of the machinery but that’s just how it is in this line of business. The workshop gets dusty and there is always the smell of metal and oil in the air. We aren't a big corporate office with fancy carpets or anything like that. It's just a regular shop floor where things get made. Our days start early and sometimes they go late if there’s a lot to finish. The guys here have been working together for a long time so we don’t need to say much to know what needs doing. Bais Godam is a central spot which makes it easy for people to find us even if the roads are a bit narrow in places. We deal with a lot of heavy stuff and moving crates around is a daily workout. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out which gives us a minute to grab some tea. It's honest work and we take it as it comes. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless it’s for orders. Most of the time we are out on the floor. It’s a simple life and we like the routine of making things. We just keep our heads down and focus on the machines. It is not always easy, but we get by.
