We are over at 25, Hatroi, in the Gopalbari area. It’s a bit different being here instead of one of those massive industrial parks on the edge of the city. The street is narrower and there are more people walking around. We’ve been dealing with electric components for quite a while now. The building is an older one, so it has a bit of character, though the stairs are kind of steep. Inside, you’ll find boxes of switches and wires stacked up in almost every corner. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. The office is small and gets a lot of light in the morning. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or trying to figure out where a late delivery is. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just sit and wait it out with some tea. It’s a regular job for us. We don’t have a big team, just a few people who have been here long enough to know the inventory by heart. We get a mix of people coming through the door, some looking for a single part and others wanting a whole crate. We treat them all about the same. It’s a steady pace of work and we like being in this part of the city. We shut the lights off and head home once the orders are boxed.
