We are tucked away in Govindum Apartment in Radha Vihar. It’s actually a flat, number 12 to 27, so it’s not your usual shop front on the main road. Being in Sodala means we are close to the action but it’s a bit quieter up here in the building. We spend most of our time surrounded by piles of cloth and thread. Jaipur gets incredibly hot in the summer so we keep the fans going all day while we work. Fashion Hub isn't some big mall store. It’s just us working out of this space on New Sangoner Road. We have racks of clothes everywhere and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit. The light in the afternoon is good for seeing the colors of the fabric. Customers usually call before they come up since it’s a residential area mostly. We do a lot of measuring and cutting. My hands are usually covered in lint. It’s a lot of repetitive work but we like the routine. The neighbors are used to people coming in and out by now. We try to keep things tidy but when you have that much fabric, it’s a losing battle. It’s just a small local business trying to get things done right. We have sewing machines going all the time. Sometimes we work late into the night when there's a lot to do. It's just how the garment business goes for us here.
