Silkasia

Silkasia is tucked away at C-54/55 Gulabi Nagar in Sushilpura. It's right off the Ajmer Road in Sodala. Most people know the area because it's usually crowded with traffic and noise. We’ve been in this spot for a good while. Dealing with fabrics and silks is what we do every day. It’s dusty work sometimes. You see the rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls in every corner. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and checking for small snags or stains. It's not a showroom with bright lights and fancy music. It’s more of a workspace where we get things done. We talk to the suppliers and the local tailors who stop by to pick up orders. Sometimes the fans are clicking overhead while we work. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer months. We keep a stash of cold water in the back for anyone who comes in. My family has been around Sodala forever. We like it here because it's where we belong. We don't have a big marketing team. We just have the stuff we sell and the address. If someone needs silk, they find their way to our door eventually. We might be busy with a shipment, so things can look a bit chaotic when you walk in. That’s just part of the business. We try to be fair and keep things simple. No one here wears a suit. We just wear what's comfortable for a long day of moving heavy fabric.
