Shri Ram Metal Works

Our shop, Shri Ram Metal Works, is over at Sp-818B on Road No-14 in the Vishwakarma Industrial Area. Being further down on Road 14 makes it a bit quieter than the main entrance, but it is still a very busy place to work. We deal with metal every day, cutting it and shaping it according to what is needed at the moment. The air inside the workshop usually smells like burnt oil and hot iron, which is something you just get used to after a week on the job. We have our machinery bolted to the concrete floor, and there are scraps of metal piled up in the corners waiting to be cleared out. Our office part is just a small table with a ledger and a couple of pens that sometimes work and sometimes don't. We do not spend much time sitting down anyway. The industrial area can be a harsh place during the peak of summer, with the sun beating down on the metal roofs, but we keep the fans going and just get on with the tasks. People find us by looking for the Sp-818B sign among all the other industrial units. We have been in VKI for a while and know the routine of the delivery trucks and the tea sellers who come by every afternoon. It is just a straightforward metal shop where we work hard until the day is done and we can lock up.
