If you come down to Satya Nagar in Jhotwara, you will find us at S-3. It is a quiet enough area compared to the main markets. Shri Naamdev Textiles has been operating out of this space for some time. We deal with all sorts of textiles, mostly cotton and blends that people use for stitching. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things high up. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to reach the top rolls. My nephew helps out when he isn't at school. We spend a lot of time just measuring and cutting fabric for people who walk in. The fan makes a bit of a clicking noise but it keeps the air moving during the hot afternoons. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People mostly find us because they live nearby or someone told them we have what they need. We usually have a radio playing in the background. It helps pass the time when things are slow. Dealing with suppliers takes up a lot of our energy, especially when the truck gets stuck in traffic. That happens more than you would think around here. We just try to keep the stock fresh. It's practical work. We don't really do much else besides focus on the cloth. It’s what we know. The floor needs a sweep pretty often because of the thread bits and dust. That’s just life in a textile shop like ours.
