Khatri Tex

Khatri Tex is located at F-112 in the Garment Zone of the Export Promotion Industrial Park, which everyone just calls EPIP, in Sitapura. It’s a long address, but it’s basically just a big industrial block. We focus on garments, so our space is filled with sewing machines, ironing boards, and rows of finished clothes waiting to be packed. Since we are in the export zone, there are a lot of rules we have to follow, but we’ve gotten used to the paperwork over the years. It’s a very busy environment. You can always hear the hum of the machines and the steam from the irons. We don’t have a marketing department; our work usually speaks for itself when the buyers come to visit the facility. The floors are concrete and there’s always thread everywhere, no matter how much we clean up at the end of the shift. We have a lot of workers who come in from the surrounding areas of Jaipur, and some of them have been with us since we first opened this unit. We don’t use fancy language to describe what we do. We just take the fabric, cut it, sew it, and send it out. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially when we have a big deadline to meet. But it’s what we know how to do, and we just keep at it every day without complaining much.
