Shankar Machinery Market

Shankar Machinery Market is right in the middle of all the chaos on Station Road. We are directly opposite the Sindhi Camp Bus Stand, so you can imagine how noisy and crowded it gets around here. There is always someone blowing a horn or a bus pulling in. We’ve been here for years, and the view hasn’t changed much, just more people every year. The shop is full of all kinds of machinery parts and equipment. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a box to find another box. We don't have a lot of room to move, but we know where everything is kept. People from all over the state end up here because they’ve just gotten off a bus and need a part for their farm or their small workshop back home. I spend most of my day talking to folks who are just passing through. It’s a busy life, and the heat in the summer can be pretty rough since we’re right on the main street. We don't have any fancy displays. We just have shelves piled high and a counter that’s seen better days. But it works for us and it’s been working for a long time. You get used to the smell of diesel and the sound of the crowd. It’s just part of being at Sindhi Camp. We open early and stay until the last bus crowds thin out for the night.
