If you’re driving down Agra Road, you’ll find us at the spot everyone calls Sadhe Teen Dukan. Ashoka Sanitary Tiles & Electricals is right there, sitting opposite Bhaskar Pavitra Bhojanalaya. It’s a handy landmark because people are always stopping there to eat. Our shop is filled with stacks of tiles and boxes of electrical fittings. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when a big shipment comes in and we have to find space on the floor. The tiles are heavy, so there’s a lot of lifting and moving things around throughout the day. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we’re constantly wiping down the porcelain and the plastic covers on the switches. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning. Most of our customers are local builders or people from the nearby colonies who are fixing up their bathrooms or kitchens. They usually come in with a specific list of pipes or wires they need. We don't have a big sales team; it's just us helping out whoever walks through the door. Sometimes it’s quiet and we just watch the traffic go by on Agra Road. Other times, three people want different things at the same time. We just take it one person at a time. It’s a straightforward business. We provide the materials people need to finish their houses, and we’ve been doing it right here by the roadside for a good while.
