S.H. Metal Industries

If you’ve ever driven down Tonk Road, you might have seen our place, S.H. Metal Industries. It’s a busy stretch of road and we fit right in with the noise. We deal with metal every day, so there is usually the sound of cutting or clanging going on in the background. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a practical space where we can get the work done. I started this because I knew how to work with my hands, and it just grew from there into a real business. We have a few machines that have been with us since the start, and they still run fine even if they look a bit old now. The air inside gets a bit hot during the summer months, but we keep the fans going and take plenty of breaks for tea. Our customers are mostly local folks or other businesses nearby who need something specific made out of metal. We don't use a lot of big words or complicated processes. We just listen to what someone needs, look at the metal we have, and try to make it work. Sometimes the measurements take a bit of extra time to get right, but that’s just how it is with this kind of trade. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. It’s a bit messy but we know where everything is kept.
