Our place is out in Helena, right near the Jaipur Agra Highway. You can’t miss it if you’re driving that way because of the big stacks of iron and steel in the yard. It’s a dusty spot, mostly because of the trucks roaring past on the highway all day. We spend a lot of time outside in the heat, checking the loads and making sure the counts are right. The office itself is small and functional, just enough room for a desk and a couple of chairs for when customers stop by. We’ve been here at Garam Post for quite some time now. It’s not the kind of place you’d go to see a fancy display. It’s a working yard. The ground is gravel and dirt, and your shoes are always covered in it by the time you go home. We don’t have any marketing slogans or big promises. We just trade steel and iron. We know the truck drivers by name and they know we’ll have a cup of tea ready for them while they wait for the loading. The weather is the biggest thing we deal with, whether it’s the summer sun beating down or the monsoon rains making the yard muddy. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s simple, rugged, and it keeps us busy from dawn to dusk. It is just a regular business on the highway.
