Our shop is tucked away on the 2nd Cross of KGB Ka Rasta, right in the middle of the Johari Bazar area. If you know the neighborhood, you probably know we are quite close to LMB, which is where everyone goes for sweets. Being in this part of Jaipur means dealing with a lot of people and very narrow lanes every single day. It is a lively place, though it can get pretty cramped when the morning deliveries arrive. We have been at this 4488 address for some time, and the building has that old city feel to it. Inside, it is usually a bit of a mess with fabric pieces and measuring tapes scattered around. We do not have much in the way of air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans to stay cool while we work on the latest batches. The stairs are narrow and we have to be careful when carrying heavy rolls of cloth up and down. Most of our neighbors are also in the trade, so there is a lot of shouting back and forth across the street. We spend a lot of our time looking at patterns and making sure the dyes came out right. It is a busy life here in the bazar, and we are usually too tied up with the sewing to worry about much else. We just try to get the orders out the door without making mistakes, and then we close up for the night.
