Ruchi Steels

Ruchi Steels is located at No 198 in the New Loha Mandi. Just like the rest of this market, it’s a place of heavy metal and constant movement from morning until night. Our plot is basically a large open shed where we store the steel pieces. It’s got that specific smell of iron and dust that seems to stay with you even after you go home for the day. We spend our mornings checking what material came in overnight and our afternoons getting orders ready for the big trucks to take away. It’s heavy physical work, and the guys who help us are always busy with the cranes or just moving things by hand when they have to. The office is just a small corner partitioned off with a fan and some old chairs that have seen better days. We keep all our records in big binders that are starting to show their age with dusty edges. We’ve been here a long time, and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we just keep doing our own thing. There’s no fancy marketing or brochures here; we just talk to the people who walk in and see what they need for their work. Sometimes the traffic in the Mandi is so bad that nothing moves for an hour, so we just sit and wait it out. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do.
