Raj Rishi Steels

Our place is over at 27A/66-68 in Adarsh Society. We are right across from the Dainik Bhaskar office in the Light Industrial Area. It’s a busy part of town with lots of trucks moving in and out all day long. We handle steel supplies and some fabrication work. The yard is usually full of pipes and sheets, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. It’s a family business that’s been around for a while. My dad started it and now I help run things along with my brothers. It’s dusty work and the noise from the grinders is constant. We don't have a front office with air conditioning or anything like that. Just a small metal cabin where we keep the ledger and the old phone. Sometimes orders get mixed up or the truck driver is late, and we have to scramble to fix it. It’s just the nature of the steel trade. We work with a lot of builders and local contractors who need metal for their projects. We aren't the biggest supplier in the area, but we try to keep enough stock on hand so people don't go away empty handed. The gates are open early in the morning and we stay until it's dark. We spend most of the day loading and unloading material. It’s heavy work and our boots are always ruined by the end of the year from the metal scraps on the ground.
