We are over here in Bapu Nagar at A-11, right near the Janta Store. It's a busy spot in Jaipur and we’ve been here for quite some time now. Every morning we open up and start looking at the measurements we took the day before. Dealing with men's clothing is a lot of work but it keeps us busy. People come in looking for something that fits right, not just off a rack. We spend most of our time with needles and thread, or sitting at the machines. The shop isn't huge, but it has everything we need to get the job done. Sometimes the electricity goes out, or it gets too hot in the afternoon, but the sewing goes on. It's just a local place where we handle fabrics and try to get the stitching straight. Most of the guys around here know where we are. We don't do much fancy talk, we just focus on the shirts and trousers on the table. If you walk past the Janta Store, you'll see us there. It's a regular work life, making sure collars are stiff and hems are even. We keep a lot of fabric rolls around. It can get messy with all the scraps on the floor, but by the end of the day, we sweep up and get ready for the next one. Our sewing machines have their own quirks, some click a bit louder than others, but they work fine. We just stay here and keep the needles moving.
