Nishabd Clothing is right in the middle of the action at 3786 on Dinanth Ji ka Rasta in Chandpole Bazar. If you know Jaipur you know how busy the bazar can get. It is loud, colorful, and always moving. Our workspace is tucked away in one of the many lanes. It is an old building and we have had to adapt the rooms to fit our sewing machines and cutting tables. The space is a bit tight but that is just how it is in the old city. We spend our days surrounded by the hum of the market outside. There are a lot of stairs and small corridors but we know our way around perfectly. We do not have a big corporate team; it is mostly just local folks who are good with their hands. We focus on the actual making of the clothes. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain makes the lanes muddy but we just keep going. We keep our records in simple ledgers and spend a lot of time talking to the merchants nearby. It is a very hands-on business. We do not bother with fancy decor because the work is what matters. Every morning we roll up the shutters and get to work on the latest batch of orders. It is a tough environment sometimes but it is where we belong. We have been part of this bazar for a while now.
