The heat is the first thing you notice when you walk into Plot No. 7/247. We are located in Vidhyadhar Nagar, and Nirmal Inductomelts Pvt. Ltd. is all about the furnace work. It’s not a job for everyone. You have to be okay with sweating and the bright glow of the melting metal all day. I’ve been working around these machines for a long time, and I still find it impressive to see how it all works when the metal turns to liquid. We have a small crew, mostly guys from the local area who don't mind the hard environment. The noise is something else, a constant hum that you eventually stop hearing after a few hours. We aren't a big corporate office with fancy chairs. Our chairs are mismatched and the table in the breakroom has seen better days. But the work we do is solid and we take care with it. We spend a lot of time checking the temperatures and making sure the molds are set right before we start a pour. If something goes wrong, we stay late to fix it. There’s no leaving early when a batch is in the middle of a melt. The neighborhood around us is getting more crowded, but we just stay inside our plot and do our thing. It’s a specific kind of business and we’ve gotten pretty good at the routine of it over the years. We just watch the fire.
