If you are driving down National Highway 11, you might see our place near the Sainthal Mod. It is a bit of a rough spot with all the trucks passing by and kicking up dirt, but we are used to it. The workshop is mostly open because the heat from the welding machines gets to be too much if we close the doors. You will usually hear the sound of metal hitting metal or the screech of a grinder before you even see us. We have got scrap iron and half-finished frames sitting out front. It looks a bit messy to most people, but we know where everything is. My clothes usually have small burn holes from the sparks, and my hands are always stained with some kind of grease or rust that won't wash off easily. We do not have a big office or anything, just a small corner with a desk and some old chairs where we sit when we are taking a break or drinking tea. The sun hits the metal quite hard in the middle of the day, making everything too hot to touch without thick gloves. We do all sorts of work, mostly just fixing things or building whatever people ask us for. It is hard labor and the days are long, especially when the highway traffic is backed up and the noise is constant. We just keep our heads down and get the work done, one piece at a time, until it is finally time to go home.
