If you’re walking down Chaura Rasta, you’ll find us near the Ban Walon Ka Gate. It’s a famous old gate, and our shop is at number 752. The area has so much history, and you can see it in the architecture and the way the streets are laid out. We’ve been here at Ms Bandhani for a long time. Our shop is quite narrow, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. We keep most of the stock piled up high, and sometimes we have to use a rickety old ladder to reach things at the top. It’s a bit of a workout every day. The morning sun hits the front of the shop just right, which is the best time of the day. We don't really bother with any of that modern marketing stuff. We just put a few things out front and wait for people to wander in. A lot of our day is spent just folding and unfolding things, making sure everything looks decent. It’s repetitive, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that I like. We get all sorts of people coming through—locals, tourists, people just passing through. We treat everyone the same and just try to be decent. It’s not a complicated life, but it’s ours, and we like being part of the Chaura Rasta community. We just take things as they come and don't worry too much.
