Moti Commodity Futures Private Ltd.

We are up on the third floor of Roop Kamal Apartments, that is room 301. The building is C-55 on Sarojini Marg. It is a pretty central location, so there are always people coming and going. Moti Commodity Futures is basically a few rooms filled with desks and a lot of screens showing numbers that never seem to stop changing. We spend our whole day watching those numbers. It can get a bit stressful when the markets are moving fast, and you will hear a lot of shouting across the room. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts. It is not a quiet place, that is for sure. Between the phones ringing and the fans buzzing, it is quite a lot of noise. We deal with futures, which means we are always thinking about what is going to happen tomorrow or next month. It is a bit of a gamble sometimes, but we have been doing it long enough to know the rhythms of it. Our office is not decorated with anything fancy, just some old calendars and maybe a few photos of our families. We are not here to look good; we are here to work. When the market closes, we finally get a bit of peace and quiet to finish up the day’s entries. Then we lock up and head down the stairs, ready to do it all again the next morning. It is just how the commodity business works.
