Metal Stonex

Metal Stonex is located out on Vkia Badharna Road No 14. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always trucks moving around and a lot of dust. We deal with stone and metal mostly. Big slabs, smaller pieces, all sorts of things that come from quarries. The yard is usually full of material. It gets pretty heavy and we use the equipment to move things around. It isn't a quiet job. You can hear the cutting and the water running most of the day. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the stone and making sure the edges are right. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, but we manage. Road No 14 is a busy spot for this kind of work. We’ve been here for a while and seen how the area has changed. Most of the people we talk to are builders or people doing up their houses. They come by to look at the different patterns and colors in the stone. It’s a lot of lifting and moving. The office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the papers. Mostly we are out in the yard. It’s a practical business. We don’t do much advertising; people just find us here. Each piece of stone is different, so it takes some time to sort through it all. It’s just us doing the daily grind in the dust and sun, making sure the orders are ready for pickup.
